Airtel myPlans Review: How Does It Affect You?

Airtel myPlans

Over a month ago, Airtel introduced Airtel myPlans for all its postpaid customers. An innovative step which allows customers the freedom and flexibility of creating their own postpaid plans. But is it as effective as promised? Let’s see.

‘myPlans’ works in 3 steps. We did a sample test to understand how it works. Here is what we found:

Step 1: Select Monthly Rental

Fill in your usage details with help of sliders in each category. The form is compact and to the point, but the sliders are a letdown. With a low response rate and difficulty in controlling them, filling in your exact details is quite a task. Here is the data we entered: Enter data in My Plan calculator

Step 2: Chose you’re myPacks

Once you click the ‘submit’ option, Airtel suggests a plan based on the inputs given by you. The trick is to optimize the freebies in such a way that all your expenses get covered within the myPack amount. In this case, we optimized the freebies as shown below:

My Plan Freebies

Step 3: Top up with myBoosters

Here, you can finish creating you’re myPack with selecting boosters that get added to your total bill amount. However, most of the add ons are rendered useless as they already get selected with the freebies and can’t be repeated here again.

My Plan Boosters So if our internet usage exceeds the 1GB of internet usage we have added, we will have no option but to pay for it separately. This is where Airtel disappoints the most.

Thus, while Airtel  allows some freedom in designing the plan, you have to go according to the variables set by the company. Meanwhile, check out the calculator below and optimize your myPlan. You can also sign up for doing a quick and hassle free MNP within a week’s time!

I wanted to change my prepaid connection to postpaid, and went to your custom care center with requiste documents and depoisted fee of 250/ as activation charges, but denied converting to postpaid. giving reasons not present at home, I may tell you that I am your customer for the last 15 years, and all are mobile are from airtel. I was personally present in your Store at Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. Your officers rejected it because i was working in Hamirpur, as a consultant.,and not present at Shimla, Even my wife left for Delhi on 18-11-2015. I fail to understand why Airtel want spot verification of a person, when he is personally present, and your old customer. Airtel should look into my complaint seriously, and remove this type of condition for all the Airtel customers
you are requested to look into the matter, and sort out the problem and oblige.

      Hey Mr. Sud

while we understand your anger and frustration, we would like to make it explicitly clear that we are neither representatives of Airtel nor any other mobile service providers or service providers of any other switching services we provide. SwitchMe is an online service that helps customers switch their home loans, we are in no way associated with Bharti Airtel. Please contact Airtel’s customer complaints cell. If that doesn’t work then we suggest that you try getting in touch with their representative over social media platforms.
