Over a month ago, Airtel introduced Airtel myPlans for all its postpaid customers. An innovative step which allows customers the freedom and flexibility of creating their own postpaid plans. But is it as effective as promised? Let’s see.
‘myPlans’ works in 3 steps. We did a sample test to understand how it works. Here is what we found:
Step 1: Select Monthly Rental
Fill in your usage details with help of sliders in each category. The form is compact and to the point, but the sliders are a letdown. With a low response rate and difficulty in controlling them, filling in your exact details is quite a task. Here is the data we entered:
Step 2: Chose you’re myPacks
Once you click the ‘submit’ option, Airtel suggests a plan based on the inputs given by you. The trick is to optimize the freebies in such a way that all your expenses get covered within the myPack amount. In this case, we optimized the freebies as shown below:
Step 3: Top up with myBoosters
Here, you can finish creating you’re myPack with selecting boosters that get added to your total bill amount. However, most of the add ons are rendered useless as they already get selected with the freebies and can’t be repeated here again.
So if our internet usage exceeds the 1GB of internet usage we have added, we will have no option but to pay for it separately. This is where Airtel disappoints the most.
Thus, while Airtel allows some freedom in designing the plan, you have to go according to the variables set by the company. Meanwhile, check out the calculator below and optimize your myPlan. You can also sign up for doing a quick and hassle free MNP within a week’s time!
